Hitachi Consulting Client T.D. Williamson Wins Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Award for Excellence in Innovation

Company Uses Microsoft Dynamics CRM & AX Solution to Improve Global Resource Utilization

DALLAS — May 4, 2010 — Hitachi Consulting client, T.D. Williamson, Inc., one of the most trusted names in pipeline equipment and services, was recently awarded the 2010 Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Award for Excellence in Innovation. The company was honored by Microsoft executives at an awards luncheon on April 25 at Convergence 2010 in Atlanta.



More than three years ago, T.D. Williamson realized that maintaining five different ERP applications with no solution for job scheduling was an increasingly cumbersome task. After thorough analysis, company executives launched a global resource scheduling initiative and selected Microsoft Dynamics AX to tackle the job-scheduling challenges. Integrating Dynamics CRM with a field services solution for Dynamics AX, the initiative allows service coordinators to instantly see availability of complex tool configurations and skilled technician resources in order to confidently deliver on quoted work, per the customer’s constraints. Since the roll-out, the company has seen reduction in freight costs and capital requests for new tools, improved service margins from equipment scheduling efficiencies, and significant savings in North America.
